We pride ourselves on our quality products, exceptional customer service and highly valued employees.Position Summary: Perform the duties required to operate tools and gages in compliance with safety standards.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOBThe Gage Assembler will be responsible for delivering results that include the following:Complete projects from setup sheets and blueprintsPower clean all sides of parts with alcohol in order to remove greaseOperate belt sander, sand blaster, and small tools to include drills, hand tools, torches, presses and fixturesUtilize precision measuring tools and various gages to ensure parts meet specificationsSet tight tolerances and calibrate gages to meet established guidelinesOperate computer to input production time; check quantity and status of parts as well as any other necessary standard operationRepair customer precision measuring gages and setting fixtures of various kindsDisassemble, troubleshoot and replace bad parts; clean and re-assemble parts as well as calibrate according to blueprint toleranceAssemble new gages and setting fixturesReview blueprints, setup sheets and various fixtures for small assemblies and various measuring devicesComplete lapping on pins for flatness according to blueprintsGrind parts to tolerance using grinder and torque wrenchEvaluate customer gages and estimate parts and time for special gagesRespond to customer service questions Inspect all jobs to ensure they meet quality standardsComplete work in other departments, to include packing, die-casting for break-off parts, and other small assembly jobsPOSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSAt least 1 year of experienceAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers including decimals and fractions Simple reference use of formulas, charts, shop prints, specifications and computer scanning devicesAbility to use common application software, sandblaster, belt sander, various hand tools, torches, presses, fixtures, and a variety of precision measuring instrumentsPhysical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop and crouch, push, pull, reach, grasp, feel, talk, and hear. Generally light physical effort.
