In this role, you play a critical role in defining the technical vision and roadmap for our drone, which is the central product in our goal of delivering millions of packages to customers within 30 minutes. To do this, you influence and partner with Engineering, Product, Finance, Regulatory and Operations leaders within Prime Air and across Amazon. Key job responsibilitiesIn this role, you will be responsible for engineering, integration and delivery of the Prime Air drone vehicle system. This includes the design and development of hardware systems of the drone as well as integrating all the subsystems on the drone to a launch. The ideal candidate is passionate about and is experienced in working back from the customer to developing new, breakthrough products. They are experienced in designing, building, , integrating, testing and certifying aerospace artifacts.As a technical leader, you will lead teams of top-notch mechanical, electrical, software and systems engineers as well as research and applied scientists to deliver high quality, aerospace grade product. As the leader responsible for developing an integrated product, you have experience developing an integrated product development plan and leading a team of senior engineering managers and technical program managers to execute to it. You have proven analytical, strategic, technical and program management success as well as the ability to recruit and develop high-caliber leaders and individuals. This role represents significant intellectual, technical and innovation challenges with large opportunity for business impact.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS•Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.• 12+ years of aerospace engineering experience. • 6+ years of experience managing engineering managers.• Understanding of aerospace product development life cycle from design to certification. • Strong verbal and written communication skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS• Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field • 15+ years relevant work experience.• Experience leading an Aircraft Integration program or team.• Experience in a leadership role in bringing a product to market.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
