Job Description ASRC Federal Vistronix (ASRC Federal) is seeking a full time Cloud Systems Engineer to join our Denver-based team and provide cloud-based system support for our government customer. This role is a remote position but may require some limited domestic travel. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and engineering of government systems infrastructure. The candidate will work with business sponsors and other relevant stakeholders to apply their depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of systems lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with many stakeholders on a daily basis to stay focused on common goals. The ability to work with both technical and non-technical audiences is very important. Key Role: Serve as a Cloud System Engineer with responsibilities of designing, building, monitoring, and managing the cloud infrastructure shared services. Assist the Cloud Platform/Operations team as needed and requested by management. Responsible for ensuring Cloud infrastructure meets service requirements. Provide operation support for cloud services through monitoring, incident response, and incident resolution for production applications and infrastructure deployed in the cloud environment. Perform performance tuning, respond, and escalate incidents to appropriate team when required. Perform root cause analysis, create/update support documentation, assist with backup and recovery support for Cloud resources, and execute disaster recovery (DR) procedures to support DR testing, Support, monitor and report on compliance programs. Responsible for managing infrastructure to ensure that infrastructure meets the define service outcomes; configuration of virtual infrastructure; patch and update management; create and manage cloud templates that deliver defined service outcomes; capture document changes to templates including new service or variants; tag and review cloud infrastructure management details; manage capacity for virtual infrastructure environment; manage virtual networks and manage resiliency of applications. Coordination with various teams in migrating government applications and enterprise architecture into Azure.  Requirements Basic Qualifications: Minimum of 8 years’ experience in systems engineering or network engineering. Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or Engineering (or similar). 10 years related experience in systems engineering or network engineering in the absence of a degree. Experience with government (civilian) cloud offerings. Experience developing and deploying Azure commercial cloud infrastructure designs that meet customer requirements while considering cost, performance, availability, security, and compliance with regulations such as NIST 800-53r4, FIPs 140-2 & 3, etc. for mainly FEDRamp Moderate systems. Experience of administering and operating medium/large enterprise infrastructure and services in Azure commercial cloud environments, including configuring availability, backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, patching, and security of cloud resources). Willingness to learn how to use code to automate everyday tasks and willingness to learn using a code repository to share that code with others on the Team. Experience in creating detailed documentation including architecture diagrams, network topologies, system specifications and SOPs. Willingness to learn in automating or using automation tools to create at least some of that documentation on an ongoing basis using code/tools. Experience and/or willingness to learn with Azure Cloud Services, including: Azure Compute: Virtual Machines and Windows Virtual Desktop/VDI Azure Storage Azure Database Azure Networking Azure IAM and RBAC Client connections: Bastion Host, RDP, Browser, etc. Azure Subscription and Cost management Tier III support and troubleshooting. Knowledge of system virtualization technologies. Must be able to obtain and maintain a position of Public Trust clearance. Preferred Qualifications: At least 3 years’ experience as a cloud engineer Completion of the following classes: AZ-900 (Intro to Cloud) AZ-104 (SysAdmin) Prior government contracting experience preferred. An understanding of cloud adoption processes and network security requirements as it relates to the interfacing of cloud and corporate resources in an enterprise architecture. Experience with network designs, services, and protocols. Experience with Management and Administration of MS Windows Server Operating Systems. Experience with UNIX/Linux Operating Systems. Experience working in an ITIL environment. Candidates should have strong background in enterprise operations, DNS, directory services (Active Directory), networking, software-defined architecture, and general industry security standards. Experience with Azure cloud Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - scripting and automation via AZ CLI/PowerShell, Bash, Bicep, ARM, JSON templates. Experience with CI/CD tools, preferably Azure DevOps, familiarity with GitLab, GitHub. Logical thinking, troubleshooting, presentation, and communication skills with strong drive for results. Experience in cloud technologies beyond azure such as Kubernetes, Linux, serverless applications, etc.
