Mental Health Specialist K-12 School SettingLocation: Waterford, MIContract Duration: Current School Year (CSY) 2025/2026 An educational institution in Waterford, MI seeks a Mental Health Specialist with a masters degree and a valid LARA license to support the social and emotional needs of K-12 students. This contract role involves delivering direct mental health services as well as collaborating with educators to foster positive behavioral environments. Key Responsibilities: Provide individual and group social-emotional support to general education students Assist with classroom and building-wide behavioral programs and professional learning initiatives Collaborate with school staff to implement positive behavior interventions Support student well-being and mental health through evidence-based practices Qualifications: Masters degree in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or related field Valid LARA license or limited license with supervision (e.g., LMSW, LPC, LLPC, MDE credentialed school psychologist, school social worker license) Eligibility or possession of school counselor credentials such as School Counselor License (SCL), Preliminary School Counselor Credential (PSCC), or equivalent endorsements Bachelors level social workers (LBSW) must be enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited masters level program to obtain limited licensed master social worker status within 24 months Experience working with K-12 student populations preferred This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student mental health within an educational setting.
