Start your journey with YesCare today and be part of a team that is transforming lives through care and expertise.Key Responsibilities24-Hour Coverage:Assist in ensuring 24-hour nursing coverage for the Mental Health Unit, providing appropriate clinical treatment.Sick Call Coordination:Coordinate sick call for the Mental Health Unit, ensuring nurse triage and appropriate referrals for physician follow-up.Clinical Duties:Implement psychiatric and physician orders in a timely and clinically effective manner. Administer and monitor medications according to Mental Health Unit policies and procedures.Initial Nursing Assessment:Provide an Initial Nursing Assessment for inmates admitted to the Mental Health Unit as soon as the inmate’s condition permits.Documentation:Document changes in inmate functioning and critical incidents in the Medical Record.Nursing Discharge Summary:Complete Nursing Discharge Summaries when inmates are transferred from the Mental Health Unit.Psychiatric Services Coordination:Assist in coordinating psychiatric services to ensure timely communication with psychiatrists regarding medication compliance, changes in inmate functioning, and lab results.Group Counseling & Activities:Provide group counseling and activities, ensuring Level II inmates receive two (2) hours of out-of-cell time daily.Medication Administration Records (MARS):Ensure MARS are maintained and updated.Confidentiality Compliance:Abide by the facility’s security regulations and confidentiality requirements for inmate information.Medical Supplies Monitoring:Monitor medical supplies to maintain proper inventory and facilitate ordering.Effective Collaboration:Work effectively with Health Services staff, prison staff, and CMS administrative staff to ensure comprehensive care.Employee Standards Compliance:Comply with employee standards of CMS and applicable facility standards.
