Our customers are at the center of everything we do and we’re looking for associates who are passionate about delivering extraordinary care.Role Overview:As a Project Management Specialist, Actuarial Pricing Analytics, you will coordinate and drive execution of actuarial pricing and analytics projects across Commercial Lines teams. You will work closely with Underwriting, Pricing, Data Science, Data Engineering, Technology, Finance, and Operations to ensure projects are effectively scoped, planned, communicated, and delivered. You will also help project teams and leadership follow a clear and consistent project structure by reinforcing established frameworks, clarifying expectations, and ensuring alignment throughout the pricing model lifecycle.Key Responsibilities:Project Coordination & DeliveryLead the planning, scheduling, and day-to-day management of pricing model and analytics projects from initiation through close-out.Maintain detailed project plans, timelines, RAID logs, meeting notes, and status reports.Monitor milestones, dependencies, and risks, escalating issues as needed to ensure timely delivery.Promote adherence to the Pricing Model Lifecycle by guiding teams and leaders to follow structured processes and decision pathways.Stakeholder Management & Communication• Coordinate discussions, decisions, and follow-ups across cross-functional teams.• Prepare clear, concise communication updates, summaries, and presentations for project sponsors and partners.• Ensure alignment and information flow between Underwriting, Pricing, Finance, Data, Technology, and Operations throughout each project.Business Case & Funding SupportSupport the development and submission of business cases required for project funding.Gather inputs from functional partners to accurately scope timelines, resource needs, and expected outcomes.Process & DocumentationContribute to standardizing project management practices within the Pricing PMO.Reinforce governance expectations, documentation standards, and lifecycle checkpoints to ensure consistent project execution.Capture lessons learned and identify opportunities to strengthen the pricing model development lifecycle.Required Skills:Proven experience coordinating or managing cross-functional projects.Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence without authority.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing clear status updates and presentations.Exceptional organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.Demonstrated ability to reinforce project structure, manage risks, and drive accountability.Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Smartsheets, MS Office, Teams).Preferred Skills:Experience supporting analytics, data, or technical projects; familiarity with Property & Casualty insurance is an asset.Understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).Ability to navigate ambiguity, problem-solve, and bring clarity to complex work.Project management certification (CAPM, PMP, Scrum Master) is a plus.Work Arrangements:It is highly preferred that this role will work on a hybrid schedule, with 2 days per week at one of our office locations in Columbus, OH, Des Moines, IA, or Scottsdale, AZ.#LI-SM1Job Description SummaryWe are a versatile group of individuals, working together to meet the needs of our customers. Consults with functional groups within Nationwide Technology and internal business clients to develop short- and long-term business transformation plans. Develops and implements business processes and procedures. Responsible for communicating to customers, management and external sources.Identifies the critical elements of a business process that need to be monitored. Reports performance in a cohesive manner. Participates, as a team member, in analysis and design of organizational structures, roles, responsibilities, governance, staffing and sourcing to support business goals, strategies and process architecture. Provides significant contribution in executing department-level change.Trains customers on business, technological, societal and environmental trends to support strategies for improving business performance.Facilitates evaluation and research of new and existing products, procedures and/or workflow needs associated with business systems for the company. Evaluates new technological developments and evolving business requirements and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements.Assists in the development and implementation of compelling business cases to accomplish business objectives. Assists with the identification, assessment and mitigation of business risks associated with the current operating model and/or desired target state operating models.May perform other responsibilities as assigned.Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Director; this is an individual contributor role. Typical Skills and Experiences:Education: Undergraduate studies in business, insurance, mathematics, computer science or related field preferred. Experience: Five plus years of progressively more responsible experience in business consulting and business process analysis and design, performance improvement, problem solving, planning, coordinating and organizing. Project management experience is preferred. Experience with process re-design methods and tools.Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven knowledge of standards, methodologies and frameworks, business process management and technology. Sound knowledge of a variety of tools, concepts and techniques. Understanding of new technologies and developments in the technology industry and their application. Detailed knowledge of systems development life cycle. Knowledge of project management concepts and techniques are required. Knowledge of facilitation, performance management, organizational design and organization change management. Ability to lead large or sophisticated projects.
