Essential Functions
- Paid internship working in EMC's corporate actuarial team
- Provides support to actuarial team by performing basic analysis within pricing and modeling areas
- Gathers information for analysis
- Organizes data into databases and spreadsheets
- Assists pricing and modeling teams with projects
- Develops understanding of insurance operations, statistical analysis, data management and computer programming
- Communicates results of analysis to actuarial management team
Education & Experience
- Actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer science or related major
- Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of statistics and probability
- Good analytical, investigation and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred
- Familiarity with R and SQL preferred
- Good verbal and written communication skills
