RESPONSIBILITIES : This is a full-time, twelve-month administrative faculty position for Brightpoint Community College’s Practical Develop, direct, and administer the day to day activities of the Radiologic Technology Program and be responsible for adherence to the policies of all applicable regulating agencies. Teach courses, as needed. Obtain and maintain accredited status with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). Oversee the admission, retention, and recruitment of radiography students. Develop and maintain partnerships with other institutions and external agencies. Maintain the Radiologic Technology program’s budget allocation and work with the dean to ensure that college, grant, and other funds are used appropriately. Supervise the scheduling of labs, academic classes, professional development, and clinical experiences. Coordinate the preparation of licensing and accreditation site visits and reports. Evaluate facilities for clinical placement of students. Provide leadership in the coordination of student completion ceremonies. Assist radiography students with academic issues, action, and problems related to their enrollment, progress, and completion of their academic goals; and support radiography faculty in resolving student, campus, and academic issues. Assist the Dean with course schedule planning and hiring of radiography adjunct faculty. Serve on college committees. Chair the advisory committee. Establish and maintain relationships with educational and clinical partners. Coordinate the use of instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning. Support and participate in strategic initiatives and perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS : Required: Bachelor’s degree in nursing; eligibility for licensure in VA; and a current, active, Master’s degree in education or healthcare discipline. Three years clinical experience in the professional discipline. Two years’ experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program. Holds current, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, in radiography. Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising. Proven ability to work as a team leader, appropriately exhibiting a positive attitude and sense of humor. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Familiarity with regional accreditation standards, certification, and licensure requirements. Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the comprehensive mission of community colleges. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check will be required. ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS : Teaching experience within an accredited radiography program. Administrative, program management, and/or curriculum development experience. Familiarity with the use of instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning. Experience with active learning, team-based learning, and/or other student-centered teaching styles. Experience developing online courses in a college.
