The West Zone ELC is seeking a dynamic, visionary, and culturally adept individual to serve as the director of our programs and partnerships. We are looking for a highly motivated and highly qualified individual to manage our Surround Care operations and programming, enhance academic experience in the Surround Care time for all students, and coordinate Community Partnerships and Programming for our students Title : Director of Programs and Partnerships (Tier D)(SY24-25) REPORTS TO : Principal Responsibilities of the Programs and Partnerships Director include, but are not limited to: Effectively direct, supervise, and evaluate job performance of Surround Care Paraprofessionals and the procedures of the program.  Facilitates the Instructional Leadership Team and regularly provides feedback on progress toward whole school instructional and performance goals. Facilitates acquisition of external resources for curriculum and coordinates the development and implementation of alternative programs. Communicates with Principal regarding supervision of substitute staff. Serve as primary evaluator for PM Surround Care Staff  Manage outside of Academic Day hours (2:30-4:45) for West Zone students in grades K0-1.  Work closely with ‘academic day’ staff to provide an enriching educational experience for students during the Surround Care Program.  Develop the structure of the Surround Care Program based on the needs and interests of students, making explicit connections to what students are learning about during the academic day.  Works with Surround Care Paraprofessionals and classroom teachers to develop an appropriate curriculum and plan activities that enrich students’ educational experiences.  Manages and coordinates afternoon buses and dismissal procedures, including recording accurate documentation of student departure, including bus attendance and parental pick ups.  Effectively train all Surround Care Paraprofessionals and implement emergency procedures, in accordance with school policies.  Maintain communication with bus attendants and families until students arrive home safely.  Document any student disciplinary issues and follow up with families, classroom teachers, and Surround Care paraprofessionals within 24 hours. Develop and maintain existing community partnerships to enhance opportunities available to all students. Maintain consistent communication with families regarding developments within the Surround Care Program, upcoming events/showcases, and supports for students. Consistently demonstrate positive interactions with students, including using positive discipline and setting clear expectations consistent with school-wide positive behavioral interventions systems.  Develop Professional Development for Surround Care Paraprofessionals, ensuring that they have the tools and resources they need to effectively meet the needs of all students.  Schedule and facilitate mandatory Surround Care Paraprofessional meetings. Collaborates with the Principal in the planning of school-wide activities including professional development. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal including supporting the Principal to help maintain student discipline, manage the business aspects of the school in order to assist the Principal in creating an environment conducive to effective teaching and learning.  QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree Strong leadership skills Strong organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED: Master’s Degree Fluent or proficient in Spanish (reading and writing) ESL license Five (5) years teaching experience Massachusetts DESE license SEI Endorsement TERMS : Managerial Tier D Please refer to ohc (under "Employee Benefits and Policies") for more information on salary and compensation. Salaries are listed by Unions and Grade/Step. NOTE: School-based managerial employees will work 223 days between July 1st and June 30th each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school. This position is subject to the City of Boston residency requirement. School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based managerial employees need not report to work.
