The Program Director will report to the Director of Recovery Services or their designee for support and supervision. Location The JP Recovery Center is a recoveryoriented sanctuary anchored in the heart of the community, delivering peertopeer recovery support services, and providing a safe, supportive, healing space for individuals in recovery. The Center uses a volunteer/member base, guided by peer staff, to deliver services and provide multiple pathways to recovery. Essential Functions Act in accordance with Victory Programs Standards of Excellence & Philosophy Care, including maintaining professional ethics, boundaries, and client confidentiality, and working from a strengthbased perspective. Provide an ethical framework for service delivery, with guidelines, policies, procedures, and practices consistent with peer values. Provide regular orientation on the basics of a peer model for all members and staff. Provide structured, varied program offerings and accessible calendars including Recovery Capitalbuilding activities, Social Events & Fun activities both at the center and out in the community. Provide Outreach & Advocacy activities with regular opportunities for members to participate in community events, where they can give back, share their lived experiences and reduce stigma as they outreach to folks in or seeking recovery, and inform others about the center. Conduct Community Meetings that welcome all to attend and learn about the center while providing members opportunities to receive updates, vote, volunteer, share ideas, provide feedback, and direct programming and activities. Offer multiple Pathways to Recovery including an array of existing and emerging recovery support programs and groups. Provide ongoing Volunteer and Peer Leader recruitment, orientation, and skills development. Provide supervision, mentoring and regular volunteer recognition. Oversee member Management, including maintenance of member contact information and enrollment in ESM to ensure assertive engagement and reengagement with members. Responsible for implementation of a recoveryoriented data collection management tool for enhanced membership data and program management. Develop and distribute marketing materials in the community to promote services. Collaborate and partner with community organizations, leaders and local treatment and recovery support service providers, coalitions and task forces, career centers and/or employment/housing organizations and criminal justice departments to promote the availability of the center, represent the recovery community, advocate for recovery, and ensure linkages to resources, supports, programs and services that benefit and address life needs of the membership. Enforce all policies and procedures of Victory Programs, Inc. Work with the finance department to complete budgets, approve accounts payable, and monitor financial statements to stay within budget. Work collaboratively with all staff to provide individualized services to all clients. Provide regular supervision to the Program Manager and Outreach Manager. Ensure that there is adequate staff coverage. Provide oncall support as needed. NonEssential Functions Attend weekly staff meetings, trainings, seminars, workshops and rallies as requested by the supervisor. Represent the program(s) in the community and to designated funders, as requested by the supervisor. Participate and support the agency in program holiday events, State House rallies, fundraising and advocacy events, HIV/AIDS rally and walk, and any additional functions. Identify alternative funding sources supportive of the program mission. Perform other duties as deemed necessary by your supervisor or his/her designee. Required Qualifications The successful candidate is someone who has accepted their substance use history, has learned to live with and manage the daily challenges of recovery, and has attained a level of personal growth and healing that gives them the understanding, insight and motivation to help others. High school or equivalent. Completion of Recovery Coach Supervision training. Must demonstrate an understanding and belief in the recovery process and Recovery Oriented Systems of Care Model. Strong leadership skills including professionalism; active listening, critical thinking and effective delegation. Must have knowledge of multiple pathways to recovery support systems, including but not limited to 12step support groups, faithbased groups, harm reduction services, SMART Recovery, Life Ring; and providing direct service. Must be independent and selfdirected but able to work collaboratively and lead or manage a team. Ability to act with integrity and compassion and foster a culture of mission, trust, respect and accountability for outcomes. Ability to demonstrate cultural awareness and competency, including the ability to understand, respond and work effectively and with sensitivity with staff and members from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Must be CPR certified (may be obtained upon hire) Completed TB screening (may be obtained upon hire) Three work related professional references; at least 2 from manager or supervisor. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor Degree in the social services field and a minimum of three years of management experience. Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC) certification. Experience working within and/or leading a Peer Participatory Model program. Strong meeting, training, facilitating and project management skills. Demonstrated competence in service coordination and networking with other human service and health care providers. Strong understanding of nonprofit organizations and the ability to implement/establish best practices. Able to work creatively within a budget and find ways of more effective management resources. Position Type Fulltime (40 hours) Exempt Position. On site. Victory Programs offers a generous paid time off package to all employees including vacation, sick, and personal time as well as holidays. Upon hire, all staff are entitled to up to: 4 personal days, 160 sick hours, 10 holidays and 3 weeks of vacation.
