Position Overview Associate Faculty Pool, Sociology (PT Faculty) SALARY: A five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94LOCATION: Lynnwood WashingtonDESCRIPTION: The Sociology Department at Edmonds College accepts applications for part-time faculty positions on an ongoing basis. Typical requirements for part-time faculty in the Sociology Department are listed below. To be included in the part-time pool, please follow the application procedure below. Applications remain on file for one year. If you wish to remain in the part-time pool beyond that time, you can update and resubmit your online application yearly. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree in Sociology or in a related cross-disciplinary field (e.g., Women's Studies, Racial and Ethnic Studies)Background in racial/ethnic, gender, social class, and/or other diversity issuesAbility to communicate effectively in oral and written English  DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Some teaching experience, preferably at a community college. Familiarity with Canvas learning management or other similar system.PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is generally performed in a classroom which requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Use of a personal computer will be required.COMPENSATION:The work schedule is based on an eleven-week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94 at Step A. Special assignments are paid at $45 per hour, and meeting stipends are compensated per the CBA rate, starting at $55 for meetings lasting from 30 minutes up to 2 hours.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.Criminal background checkAll new positions are contingent upon funding.At this time, Edmonds College does not sponsor H1-B Visas.Complete, sign, and submit
