GiaCare Inc., in anticipation of a future government contract award, is currently accepting applications for experienced, civilian Operating Room Schedulers to work alongside the federal government, in support of the Air Force Academy (Colorado Springs, Colorado).RequirementsDegree/Education:  High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.Certifications:  Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Board Certification:  N/ALicensure:  Current, full, active, and Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator.Experience:  Basic medical terminology.Duties• Receives surgical requests; validates submitted information; schedules surgeries and completes request.• Enters data in S3, or other computer scheduling system without errors (i.e., typographical, spelling or missing fields).• Notifies Operating Room Operations Officer/service team chief if special equipment, machines, grafts are requested.• Develops Daily Schedules, Advanced Schedules and Templates; prints next day’s preliminary schedule by 0800 for review and approval by Operating Room Operations Officer.• Tracks and releases Operating Room block time 7 calendar days prior to Operating Room date.• Maintains accurate and complete documentation of schedule-related Operating Room activity which includes tracking and reporting to element chief/Operating Room designee.• Imports data into the Essentris.• Reviews procedural lists and codes and confers with coders to maintain currency.
