Material Handler

Position: Material Handler Payrate: $28/hr. DOE Shift: 1st M-F 7AM-3:30PM Location: Newark, CA Contract: Temp-to-hire     Job Purpose: As a Material Handler at our warehouse, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient handling and distribution of supplies and equipment. Your responsibilities include managing shipments, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring a safe and organized warehouse environment.   Responsibilities: Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packaging, labeling, and loading items for transport. Maintain accurate inventory records using electronic inventory management systems, complemented by physical counts. Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies or shipping issues. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations. Assist in organizing and optimizing warehouse storage space for efficient inventory management. Participate in periodic inventory counts and audits to monitor stock levels and track inventory movements. Collaborate with team members to meet shipping deadlines and fulfill customer orders promptly.   Qualifications:   Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.   Skills: Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures, inventory management, and handling medical equipment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and tracking inventory data. Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.   Experience: Experience using FedEx Ship Manager or FedEx.com is a plus. Experience with an ERP system is a plus.   Working Conditions: This is a warehouse position and the warehouse is climate-controlled. Does the position travel?
