Senior Analyst, Compliance Analytics

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSExperience designing and delivering technical solutions to meet complex business requirements. Additionally, experience working in a commodity trading environment would be considered a plus.Specifically, the successful candidate would have:•Critical thinking abilities to possess deductive reasoning skills, and is able to analyze and synthesize information for problem solving.•Proven experience in a compliance organization dealing with data review, auditing, and monitoring.•Proven experience with data analysis, utilizing tools like excel, Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization platforms to analyze and present data with a compliance perspective.•Experience in SQL, R, VBA, C#, Python, and similar languages needed for analyzing large data sets.•Familiarity with defining data queries and manipulating large data sets from multiple sources to provide compliance analytics.•Effective collaboration and communication skills to describe data interpretations and insights to internal stakeholders.•High level of integrity: strong attention to detail, and commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.•Must have strong oral and written communications skills, be able to work effectively and build relationships with others.•Must have good organization and planning skills, demonstrate effective project coordination, facilitation, and implementation based on past work experiences.•Ability to work independently from others and as part of a team. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIESIn this role, the Senior Analyst, Compliance Analytics will act as a key role within the Compliance team and will:(1) perform day-to-day monitoring and surveillance activity on commodity trading activity (2) perform analysis to identify real or potential regulatory and compliance risk, and (3) develop, or assist in developing, reports, dashboards, and tools to assist Compliance leadership in risk mitigation actions and decision-making. (4) work within the Compliance team and with Cheniere subject matter experts to aggregate information from various sources to derive data-driven insights and enhancements for compliance risk analysis.Specifically, the Senior Analyst will:•Lead and enhance day-to-day surveillance activities across physical and financial commodity trading, including identification, review, investigation, and escalation of trade surveillance alerts that may indicate potential trading or conduct risks.•Identify emerging compliance risks based on data trends and support risk mitigation activities.•Generate actionable insights using advanced data analytic techniques and tools to review large, complex, and/or disparate data sets to identify compliance related trends, patterns, and anomalies.•Provide data-driven recommendations to internal stakeholders regarding compliance conduct, trading behaviors, compliance risk exposure, and compliance control effectiveness.•Aggregate, monitor, and report data to support department’s key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs).•Own the design and interpretation of compliance dashboards and reports, collaborating with IT to define and translate business requirements to guide data sourcing and visualization efforts. •Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on compliance risks, data interpretation, reporting best practices, and practical dashboard use. •Monitor industry best practices and stay current on latest trends in compliance analytics and visualization.Other duties:•Act as a trusted advisor for matters related to Compliance and compliance analytics, as needed.•Promote continuous improvement by identifying areas for improvements, opportunities to strengthen controls, and proactively address problems and gaps within scope of responsibility. •Work both independently and in conjunction with peers and management to meet the business objectives of the Compliance & Ethics Program and Department/Function. •Assist with special projects on an as needed basis.•Cross-train with other teams within the Compliance and Ethics department to help ensure coverage and continuity•The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE•Education: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, law, data science/analytics, statistics, or a related field.•Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience in a compliance domain such as trade compliance, anti-bribery/anti-money laundering, sanctions, policy governance, compliance and ethics, or enterprise risk. - Experience analyzing large volumes of to meet complex compliance business requirements. - Experience working in a commodity trading environment a strong plus.DIRECT REPORTSNoneFREEDOM TO ACTAbility to multi-task and function in a highly dynamic atmosphere; must exercise discretion independently.WORK CONDITIONS•Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others. •Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends. •Periodic travel as business requires. •Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Cheniere.ADA JOB REQUIREMENTSReasonable accommodations will be made to ensure that the essential functions of the job can be performed and not hinder the employee's performance due to physical, mental or emotional disability.
