Senior Data AnalystTarga is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Data Analyst to join our dynamic Data Analytics team. This role is crucial for transforming raw data into actionable insights, developing robust reporting solutions, and supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization, with a growing emphasis on leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to enhance our analytical capabilities. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and complex data capabilities, ensuring our BI solutions deliver maximum strategic value.As a key member of our centralized analytics team, you will have a unique opportunity to shape and implement solutions that address a diverse set of data challenges, ultimately enabling the delivery of high-quality insights throughout the organization.Job Responsibilities and Duties:Collaborate with business stakeholders across departments to understand their analytical needs, pain points, and strategic objectives.Translate complex business questions into specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) data and reporting requirements.Define and document functional and non-functional requirements for new reports, dashboards, data models, and analytical tools, including requirements for AI/ML model integration and deployment.Act as a primary liaison between business users and the data/BI technical team, translating technical complexities into understandable business language and vice versa.Present data findings, insights, and recommendations clearly and compellingly to stakeholders at all levels, fostering data literacy and adoption.Facilitate workshops and discussions to validate data requirements and gather feedback on BI solutions.Develop and execute test plans for BI reports, dashboards, and data models to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and adherence to requirements.Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users for BI deliverables.Conduct gap analyses on existing data capabilities, reporting structures, and analytical maturity to identify areas for improvement and new solution development, specifically identifying opportunities for AI/ML applications.Identify and mitigate risks related to data quality, data security, privacy compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and the reliability of analytical insights.Document detailed functional and technical specifications for BI solutions, including data sources, data transformations, calculations, and visualization requirements.Develop and deliver training programs on BI tools, reports, and data interpretation for end-users.Actively participate in enforcing data governance policies, standards, and procedures within the data analytics and BI domain.Collaborate with data stewards and data owners to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with data definitions and metadata standards.Assist in documenting data lineage, business glossaries, and data dictionaries relevant to BI initiatives.Provide ongoing support to users, troubleshooting issues related to data access, report functionality, and understanding of insights.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Essential Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, and/or equivalent work experience in a related field.5-7 years of experience in business intelligence and data analysis, with exposure to or direct experience with AI/ML projects.Excellent communication, presentation, and data storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable business insights.Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling concepts.High level of proficiency w/ SQL and relational databases.High level of accountability, customer-focused, consultative approach with stakeholders, comfort building expertise w/ new tools, and the ability to independently execute against goals.Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate professionally at all levels including executive management.Strong project management and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities, particularly in a data-intensive environment.Solid understanding of data governance principles and practices.Regular and reliable attendance.Preferred Skills:Oil and Gas Industry/Midstream OperationsExperience with Microsoft PurviewStrong understanding of AI/ML concepts and methodologiesExperience in translating AI/ML technical concepts into clear business requirements and user storiesEqual Employment Opportunity:Targa Resources provides equal employment opportunities based on merit, experience, and other work-related criteria and without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sex, age, pregnancy, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
