Software Development Manager: Cary, NC (USA) or Europe Our Global IT team is looking for a missionary to serve as Software Development Manager to lead a team of developers and oversee software development projects from start to end Responsibilities: Lead and inspire a team of software developers, providing guidance on best practices, coding standards, and development methodologies. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the development team. Oversee the end-to-end software development life cycle, from requirements gathering to design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Ensure the team follows best practices for software development and adheres to coding standards. Manage the selection, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's technology stack, including programming languages, frameworks, and development tools. Stay informed about emerging technologies and recommend their adoption where appropriate. Lead and coordinate software development projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, objectives, and success criteria. Oversee quality assurance and control mechanisms to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, the use of best practices, and to identify and address software defects. Implement and promote appropriate development methodologies (e.g., agile, disciplined agile, Kanban, etc.), ensuring the team's ability to respond quickly to changing business requirements. Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Ensure effective communication and collaboration between development and other departments. Support the professional growth and development of team members through mentorship, training, and other learning opportunities. Experience Requirements: Proven 5 or more years’ experience in a leadership role within software development. In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, programming languages, and development tools. Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery. Familiarity with agile development practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to align software development strategies with business objectives. Qualifications and Core Competencies required: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Passion for the organization's mission and values. Proficiency in the latest technology and software Must speak, read, write and comprehend English, other languages would be very helpful
