This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.The Role:GM Motorsports Performance Engineering is growing its team and expanding our motorsports engineering capabilities. As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Senior Motorsports Vehicle Testing and Instrumentation Engineer. In this role, you will collaborate with the GM Motorsports Testing & Instrumentation group to support NASCAR and IndyCar programs through advanced data acquisition, instrumentation, and vehicle testing. Your work will span all phases of development, from lab and track testing to race-day performance to ensure our vehicles deliver championship-level results throughout their lifecycle.What You’ll Do:Data acquisition and instrumentation of race and test vehiclesSupport vehicle testing at various stages: track, lab, and race environmentsCollaborate with racing programs throughout their lifecyclePerform test data analysis during and immediately after tests/racesTravel is regularly required as well as live support may be requested for track tests, lab tests, and select key racesWhat You’ll Need (Required Qualifications):5+ years of motorsports experienceProfessional Racing Data Acquisition experienceStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and act on test dataAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environmentWillingness to travel occasionally for live support at tests and racesParticipation in racing, either professional or amateur, highly desiredThis job may be eligible for relocation benefitsWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):Bachelor of Science in EngineeringExperience with Cosworth Pi DAQ SystemsExperience with Motec i2 DAQ SystemsWind Tunnel experienceStrong knowledge of vehicle dynamics and/or AerodynamicsDFSS Black Belt#LI-LP2 This role is categorized as onsite.
