A licensed engineer who works on a variety of projects on structural design, preparation of implementation documentation, coordination with clients and construction administration. Collaborates with the project team to organize and plan projects.Responsibilities:Collaborates with project team to effectively execute structural engineering design and delivery of structural implementation documentsMay coordinate early phase effort for determination of most appropriate structural framing system(s) and project criteria including building code, fire-rating, gravity/lateral loads and other unique requirements of the projectPerforms effectively as a team member during design and/or construction phasesMay prepare and/or review structural specifications for projects at each phase of deliveryMaintains active awareness of the production schedule for responsible task(s)Coordinates structural CA effort including engineering site visitation, field report documentation, submittal review, response to project RFI’s, and review of structural change order requestsRevises implementation documents from markups and/or instructions and reviews completed tasks at key intervals for accuracy/completenessReviews work of EIT staffDirects the work of structural drafting staff for implementation documentationUtilizes standard engineering practices and techniques to adjust and correlate data; recognizes and resolves discrepancies in resultsMay be responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirementsParticipates in team meetings to discuss project issues, coordination with other disciplines and technical issuesConsistently documents project meetings and telephone conversationsMaintains knowledge of products and materials available on the marketQualifications:Accredited professional degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering or related fieldProfessional engineering or structural engineering licensure required (structural engineering licensure preferred)Typically 5+ years of experienceExperience with software such as Revit preferredProficiency with structural analytical softwareProficiency in MS Office SuiteKnowledge of building codes and material design standardsAbility to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writingAbility to problem solve and apply innovative solutionsAbility to work and collaborate in team environmentAbility to work on multiple projects at the same timeAbility to effectively meet deadlines at expected qualityTravel may be required.
