Job Summary The Work-Study Student will support the Financial Aid Office and the United Way of Coastal Empire's 211 Program as a Call Center Specialist in the Savannah area beginning Fall 2025.Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.Please confirm your Federal Work-Study eligibility with the Office of Financial Aid or . Employment is contingent upon funding. Responsibilities Use active listening and interviewing skills while speaking with callers in order to uncover needsWork independently as a resource to callers and also collaboratively as a member of the 211 call-center teamDemonstrate empathy in serving people in need while maintaining a positive attitudeMaintain sensitivity and professionalism while speaking with people from a variety of socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgroundsUse problem solving skills to help callers prioritize needs and find appropriate referralsMatch callers to available resourcesMaintain accurate and complete call records for each call received and record direct assistance within the I&R database(s) and software platform(s)Demonstrate and maintain proficiency in effectively using call center database software, computer hardware, and telephone equipment.Shift SpecificsUp to 12 hours per weekFlexible with schedule of availability Required Qualifications Educational RequirementsMust be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.Other Required QualificationsMust be Federal Work eligible.
