We write, produce, shoot and edit, working collaboratively across the organization.Your New Role...The weekend Senior Producer will be a key member of the CNN video organization, leading the weekend team that produces news video for all of CNN’s digital platforms.This role will primarily be responsible for overseeing the team’s weekend coverage. They will monitor the news of the day, making assignments and overseeing scripts and edits. The Senior Producer will coordinate closely with newsgathering teams across the globe to bring in the most compelling content, and will work with writers and programmers to ensure the audience’s digital video needs are being met on all relevant stories. They will make smart editorial decisions quickly to best serve the audience what’s new. They should also be prepared to oversee content as well as jump in on script writing, video editing, and publishing.The ideal candidate is a video-first storyteller who loves a fast-paced news environment. They are comfortable making assignments and overseeing the work of others. They should be well versed in creating vertical videos for mobile and social, as well as 16x9 video. Sound editorial judgment and creativity are a must, along with an ability to navigate a large deadline-driven news organization.This position can be based in New York, Atlanta or Washington.Your Role Accountabilities...Planning for and covering the news of the dayManaging production resources to create compelling digital video contentGenerating ideas and assignments to meet audience demandsGiving feedback on scripts, edits, and headlinesExperimenting on multiple platforms to reach new consumersCoordinating across all CNN bureaus and departmentsQualifications & Experience...8+ years of experience in a national or major media marketStrong editorial judgment and a proven track record of covering news in video formatsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentExpertise in post-production software such as Adobe Premiere, Avid NewsCutter or similarExtensive knowledge of creating video for digital platforms, including social and mobileExcellent organization and communication skillsMust be able to work holidays, overnights and extended hours as the news cycle and deadlines requireHow We Get Things Done…This last bit is probably the most important Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done.
