The Opportunity We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Grand Haven that are seeking skilled Buyers. By joining our network, you position yourself for opportunities aligned with your career goals. Key Responsibilities Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to meet production needs. Place purchase orders and manage their lifecycle from creation to delivery. Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability and minimize excess stock. Collaborate with engineering and production to define material specifications and requirements. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or supply. Manage supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness. Recommended Qualifications Proven experience in direct purchasing within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for procurement and inventory management. Demonstrated strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills. Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and Bills of Material (BOMs). Solid understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory control. Bonus Qualifications Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, fabrication). Experience with international sourcing and logistics. Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies. CPSM or other relevant professional certifications.
