We are responsible for delivering a set of products and services that innovate to enable the world’s largest Fortune 500 companies to build and power generative and agentic AI applications – seamlessly spanning both on-premises and cloud deployments.  We have a unique opportunity in the AI Product team for an experienced Technical Marketing Engineer. This role will be responsible for the newly launched AI Data Engine (AIDE) for NetApp and will work closely with key field technical teams, product management, engineering, product marketing, and other key partners. In this role, you will focus on delivering key technical value propositions to the field and customers through the creation of presentations, solution briefs, blogs, and technical white papers – as well as conducting proactive field training/enablement sessions and creating product-field cohesion by influencing both product development efforts and field initiatives. A candidate who will be highly successful in this role has a passion for understanding key customer requirements for major customer segments and use cases, identifying critical product value drivers and establishing how NetApp delivers differentiated value for achieving customer technical and business outcomes.  NetApp is uniquely positioned in the AI data space as the world’s foremost data and storage solution provider for enterprises, with 10s of thousands of companies entrusting over 100 exabytes of their enterprise data with NetApp. NetApp is also the only storage provider in the world that offers native, 1st party storage across all 3 of the largest hyperscale public clouds (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) as well as on-premises in customer managed datacenters – with a single, seamless management control plane across all these topologies. Job Responsibilities Authentic experience in enterprise AI/ML and a working knowledge of key AI and enterprise software and infrastructure concepts and capabilities is a must. Candidates who do not possess both are not a fit for the role and will not be considered. E.g.: Artificial intelligence concepts including server/storage architecture, batch/stream processing, data warehousing, data lakes, distributed filesystems and data pipelining tools, model training, inferencing, as well as RAG workflows. Working knowledge of Kubernetes & containers. Knowledge of hypervisors such as VMware ESX, Linux KVM Unix-based operating system kernels and development environments, e.g. Linux or FreeBSD Experience with the Cloud Hyperscaler’s and their services (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) Prior experience with NetApp Storage or any other storage is preferred Experience in building test environments including compute, storage, networking components and enterprise workloads - both in on-prem and in the cloud Experience in creating content, including but not limited to, videos, presentations, blogs, and technical documents Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner - tailoring the message to the audience, including both verbal and written communications. Lead, influence, and work with a global team. Job Requirements Pre-sales guides and demo narratives to establish technical wins Technical white papers, reference architectures, presentations, blogs, solution briefs Demo narratives for solutions and products Partner integrations and solution validations Conduct periodic sales/partner training and information delivery sessions Identify what’s working/not working from a pre-sales perspective and make course corrections in technical messaging Support product launch activities and assist with trade shows, conferences and technical sales training or channel partner training activities Respond to customer or field inquiries, assist with technical RFPs and work with a cross-functional team of PMs, Architects, and Engineers as required Product Development Influence Influence product roadmap and development priorities with “outside-in” field and customer perspectives Stay current with trends and competitors to identify improvements or recommend product enhancements. Education A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required; 10 to 12 years of experience working in enterprise software and IT infrastructure or technical marketing is preferred. A Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in electrical engineering, or computer science or related technical discipline - or equivalent experience - is required. Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects. Demonstrated experience in authoring technical papers, as well as project conceptualization and planning are required.  Compensation: The target salary range for this position is 180,200 - 268,400 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. The range is based on 'On Target Earnings’ (OTE) representing the total potential earnings, which is the sum of the base salary and potential commission earned when performance targets are achieved. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package.
