Based in the Journalism Department within the School of Communication, this faculty member will teach at the Boston campus. The appointment begins August 20, 2026 with a mandatory two-day orientation August 20 and 21, 2026. Emerson College is the nation’s only four-year institution dedicated exclusively to majors in communication and the arts in a liberal arts context. It is located in the dynamic, multi-cultural city of Boston in close proximity to major arts institutions, performing art venues, and research centers. The person will also support existing courses in multimedia news producing, longform multimedia and/or investigative news and Capstone. The candidate should have an online portfolio that demonstrates digital news expertise and shows creative practice in the field.This faculty member should have an innovative and creative portfolio that also considers the evolution of journalism, possibly relating to news documentary or freelance journalism.
