You may just be the right candidate for this role, or another role and make your mark at Mill Creek.At MCRT a Director of Pre-Construction is responsible for overseeing the planning design and construction document phases of a variety of multifamily residential projects. The Director of Pre-Construction will be expected to offer input as well as real-time feedback as to the design efficiencies and cost implications related to choices and options in the design of the project, and in the selection of appropriate product type, materials, assemblies, systems and finishes. The position will oversee the preparation and updating of schedules for the issuance of construction cost estimates, the preparation of the construction documents, the issuance of site logistics and the construction of the project. This position is also responsible for participating in providing both conceptual and detailed construction cost estimates and budgets.Essential Functions/ResponsibilitiesTakes a leadership role during the design and construction document phases of the project in an effort toreduce construction costs through design efficiencies and value engineeringCollaborates with architects, engineers and other design and third party consultants in the preparation andreview of contract documents including landscape architects and interim designsCommunicates with Construction President, Vice President and Project Manager on project design, pricingmodels, forecasting, trends and issuesKeeps abreast of new construction technologies and products in the industryLeads the constructability review and redlines of plans and specifications at designated design milestonesDevelops RFP for design-build subcontractors and leads the coordination meetings for these subcontractorsduring the design processAssists Project Managers by providing data and support needed in the underwriting and reporting of projectupdates and changesAll other duties as assignedEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, civil engineering or related business studypreferred with five years of experience in the preconstruction and estimating of high density residential andmixed use projects.10 years of overall experience with at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role in projectpreconstruction and estimating of high density residential and mixed use projects will be accepted in lieu ofBachelor’s degreeSkills/Specialized KnowledgeKnowledge of construction practices and procedures, scheduling and safety standards and programs.Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, take off and estimating software andscheduling programs.Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Auto Cad, Rivet, BIM, Procore are desired.Strong organization, time-management, personnel management/oversight skillsAbility to communicate well in English both written and verbally.About the Benefits of joining the Mill Creek TeamCompetitive compensationComprehensive medical, dental and visionEmployer sponsored short and long term disability, Life and ADD insurance401k with employer matchingPaid time off benefits: Vacation, Sick, HolidaysMill Creek is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAre you ready to contribute to the success of Mill Creek Residential?
