JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSThe Center for the Performing Arts (CPA) in the College of Arts and Architecture (University Park, PA) is looking for one Arts Engagement Assistantto join our Engagement Team to select artists that will engage and entertain their peers, promote events,support engagementactivities, and collaborate with students within and outside of the CPA. The successful candidate will be supervised by the Arts Engagement Administrative Coordinator and work alongside the CPA departmentsto curate and promote performances and artisticengagement events that build a culture of creativity and belonging through transformative arts and culture experiences.Job Duties -Co-facilitate the Spotlight Collective meetings. Research and identify artists for inclusion in the Center for the Performing Arts schedule of performances. Curate and organize engaging artistic events forstudents across campus.Assist in promoting and covering CPA performances and engagement events. Completed work is shared with a vast and diverse audience through a variety of channels, including but not limited to print materials, website, and social media platforms.Collect and analyze data to assess CPA impact.The successful candidate will develop skills in research, writing, interviewing, and events programming and promotion. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications -Current Penn State Student. Passion for the Arts. Commitment to creating a culture of creativity, care and collaboration through the performing arts.Experience using Office . Additionally, candidates should have strong communication skills and a willingness to work with peers and staff to effectively build community through the arts. The selected candidates will work alongside seasoned professionals, developing successful candidates’ capacity for leadership and gaining meaningful work experiences to document on a resume and in a professional portfolio.
