Provides analytical and administrative support for the compilation and management of capital project budgets for expenditures using capital accounting codes and/or capital funding sources. Essential Functions 35% - Monitors and approves expenditures from budgets and various capital asset projects 30% - Advises campuses and other departments on recording accounting transactions and maintaining fiscal records; assists in related training for internal and external customers 15% - Prepares and reviews budget and accounting journal vouchers and reports pertaining to capital projects and fixed assets 10% - Prepares recommendations and provides various analytical accounting schedules, projections, reports and materials for assigned campuses and departments 10% - Assists in developing, evaluating and recommending revisions to accounting and fiscal budget procedures and processes; other duties as assigned   Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field and two (2) years of experience that includes the application of GAAP theory and practice, experience with tax laws as they apply to accounting transactions and reporting, and use of computerized accounting systems. OR Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of experience that includes the application of GAAP theory and practice, experience with tax laws as they apply to accounting transactions and reporting, and use of computerized accounting systems. OR High School Diploma/GED and six (6) years of experience that includes the application of GAAP theory and practice, experience with tax laws as they apply to accounting transactions and reporting, and use of computerized accounting systems.   Desired Qualifications A. Two (2) or more years of experience in capital asset accounting. B. One (1) or more years of experience working in a higher-education environment. C. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting D. Experience using Oracle Financial Management System (FMS) E. Experience using Microsoft Excel   Special Working Conditions Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: May be required to work at multiple sites or locations. May be required to work evenings and weekends. May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor.
