We offer not only competitive compensation and benefits packages but also a culture that is unmatchedLocation: Hickory, NCJob Summary:The Front Office Receptionist at our Hickory location will be responsible for accurate and timely patient registration utilizing medical systems. This individual will utilize facility medical necessity tools to verify appropriate patient insurance coverage, and ensure your work adheres to established policies and procedures. The associate will provide exceptional customer service to physicians, patients, family members, and all other medical professionals.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries. Notes patient arrival in Practice Management System (EMR). Identifies patients by date of birth and name in computer system, creating a new account if the patient is not already in the system. Prepares necessary patient paperwork prior to the patient’s appointment. Calls to reschedule “No Show” appointments, makes appropriate notations in the Practice Management System, and sends letters to patients when necessary. Optimizes patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone and comforting patients by anticipating their anxieties and answering their questions. Helps in emergency situations by quickly responding to patients in distress using good reasoning and judgment. Reviews Practice Management System (EMR) for information that needs to be updated, working with patients to obtain this information accurately. Identifies payer sources, verifies insurance eligibility, financial status and assigns correct payor type. Verifies if prior authorization from insurance is required and notifies the Billing Department if necessary. Maintains a clean and organized reception area. Records and updates financial information, collecting patient copays and/or balances at check-in/out while ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures and reports changes as needed. Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Routinely demonstrates superior customer service skills. Answers the telephone in a timely and polite manner. Communicates professionally with patients, visitors, providers, and team members. Other duties as assigned by Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager. RequirementsMinimum Qualifications: High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred. 1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare office preferred.
