Job Description

Supporting two local Jabil Operations:

The Maple Grove operation is Jabil's only medical device reprocessing facility. This is a medical device reprocessing operation across 3 separate facilities in and around Maple Grove, Minnesota. Reprocessing brings new life to medical devices and reduces device costs by 40-60%. In addition, reprocessing reduces landfill waste and regulated waste disposal costs.

The Chaska Materials Innovation Center that fills a void in the additive materials space by developing custom additive and injection molding materials known as Jabil Engineered Materials. These materials have unique properties to meet the specialized needs of customers – from flame retardant to lubricated and UV stable – expanding both the applications and offerings currently available for use in additive manufacturing.

SUMMARY

Manages the site's EHS team including ensuring compliance to all regulatory and internal Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.

Manages the site's facility support team including maintenance, security, food service and janitorial functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops, motivates, and challenges employees, organizing workloads as needed and ensuring each employee is adequately challenged

Provides meaningful and timely feedback on employees' performance including completing and conducting annual performance appraisals and developing training plans

Ensures an adequate level of staffing to support current and future business strategy

Oversees the daily/weekly operations of the contracted Janitorial and Security service staff

Coordinates with outside vendors on facility and food services related matters

Recruits, interviews, and hires new employees

Allocates equipment and personnel for manufacturing line moves, renovation, and construction projects

Manages capital budgeting and planning for facility maintenance and continuous improvement projects

Completes monthly departmental financial forecasts

Manages departmental costs, continually focusing on cost control and cost reduction

Reviews and analyzes key departmental metrics and other data to ensure processes are operating effectively and carries out corrective actions when required

Develops additional metrics or modifies existing metrics as required

Integrates EHS Management System within operations and business sectors to ensure compliance and sustainable performance

Provides leadership regarding health and safety compliance and direction to managers and employees in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies, standards, procedures

Oversees the daily/weekly operations of the contracted Janitorial, Grounds Crews, and Security services staff

Works safely at all times and complies with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor Degree or equivalent education and training AND 5 years in a relevant Jabil position or equivalent external work experience

Knowledge and experience in Environmental Health and Safety requirements

Advanced PC skills

Advanced reading, writing and math skills.

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to problem-solve

Ability to coordinate projects and prioritize work

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, use of computer monitor screen, for extended periods.

May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time

Lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. required

Climbing and working on ladders and scaffolding at heights up to 25 feet required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work area is in the office area with some time each day spent on the manufacturing floor and throughout the premises and property

Noise level is ranges from low to moderate.

Exposure to dirt and dust is moderate.

Exposure to cleaning supplies and chemicals is moderate.

Occasional travel to other Jabil plants, vendor, and customer locations required
