The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in Zeeland seeking experienced HR Managers. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle recruitment for production, technical, and administrative roles. Oversee employee relations, including grievance resolution and disciplinary actions. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor laws and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA). Administer compensation and benefits programs, including wage scales and shift differentials. Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and development plans. Coordinate and deliver training initiatives focused on safety, quality, and operational efficiency. Serve as a strategic HR business partner to plant leadership on workforce planning and organizational development. Recommended Qualifications Minimum 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment. Proven expertise in labor relations, including union negotiation, contract administration, or strong non-union employee relations. Comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices across recruitment, compensation, benefits, performance management, and HR compliance (e.g., OSHA, FMLA). Demonstrated ability to partner with operational leaders to align HR strategies with production goals and drive organizational effectiveness. Strong background in talent acquisition and retention strategies for skilled trades and production roles. Bonus Qualifications Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives. Proficiency in Spanish or other languages common in the local manufacturing workforce. Familiarity with manufacturing-specific HRIS features (e.g., time clock integration, shift scheduling). OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification, or other relevant safety certifications.
