David Aplin Group has partnered with our client to recruit a talented Solutions Architect to join their team in Ottawa on a one-year contract with a strong possibility of extension. Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Business Solutions and Architecture, the successful incumbent will act as the primary technical authority and perform planning activities leading to the solution architecture development. The successful candidate will also develop an architectural framework and design solution components within the organization’s portfolio to support both new project delivery, or maintenance and enhancement efforts identified by the organization, ensuring the data, infrastructure, and application architectures are aligned.   Responsibilities:Participate in all phases of the project life cycle to implement the required information technologyDefine and document the solution architecture structure, connections, and relationships with security interfaces, business applications, data, and user interfacesIdentify technical issues and risks and define a mitigation approachWork closely with Subject Matter Experts to confirm the detailed design of each solution component and integration among components; as well as coordinate the implementation of the detailed design.Prepare knowledge transfer materials and complete knowledge transfer sessions with other employeesWork with the organizations Cyber Security/Enterprise Architecture group to apply up-to-date Cyber Security standardsQualifications:University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum 5 years of working experience in developing solution architecture, with demonstrated knowledge of principles and best practices in software architecture, and architectural/design patterns and frameworksFive years of hands-on working experience with Cloud PaaS/IaaS, Java EE (Spring Framework), DevOps, and Microservice/OpenShift applicationsA minimum of 3 years working with enterprise mission-critical/high availability solution Architecture/solutionsRecognized IT industry certifications such as TOGAF, Zachman, ITIL, and Project Management certifications would be considered strong assetsDemonstrated hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions in Microsoft Azure would be considered a strong assetThe ability to acquire an Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance is requiredJob ID: 9C565691617 If you are interested in this position and meet the qualifications, apply today We thank all applicants; however, only those who are authorized to work in Canada or are selected for an interview will be contacted. David Aplin Group, one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, is an employment agency specializing in finding top talent for exceptional organizations across North America.
