Bells Mill/Potomac - Tucked into the quiet neighborhood, between Cabin John Middle and Bells Mill Elementary Schools. This stand-alone campus is our founding campus with rich history and roots in the communityNRC/Rockville - Conveniently located on Rockville Pike, and is Metro accessible. We are accredited under NAEYC (National Association of the Education of Young Children) and approved as a nonpublic school under the Maryland State Department of Education for children ages two through Kindergarten. We are not your average daycareThis position's starting rate is between $19-$23/hr with the necessary credentialsWhat you'll doProvide for the educational needs and interests of preschool children using a creative and age-appropriate curriculumSupervision of preschool children to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of all studentsSupport the physical, socio-emotional, and developmental needs of each child in the classroomDemonstrate effective leadership among the classroom teamDemonstrate effective communication skills and positive interpersonal relations with children, families, colleagues, and the communityClassroom management that fosters a consistent, safe, and positive learning environment for all students and staffQualificationsThe education/certification requirements for an Assistant Teacher position in our preschool program require a minimum of the MSDE 90hr Preschool Certification or the CDA Certification with the Preschool Endorsement. Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 or more years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and instructional strategiesStrong knowledge of MSDE regulationsA personal demeanor that is warm, friendly, and cool-temperedProficient technological skills, including Microsoft Office, are a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and reading skillsExtremely reliable in attendance and punctualityHighly organized and able to prioritize and multitaskTeam-oriented and willing to work with othersPer Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care regulations, all applicants must submit to and successfully pass a state and federal background check as a contingency of employment.
