Sr. Director, Head of BNPL Product Management

Description :We are looking for a dynamic and visionary Head of Product Management to lead the vision, strategy, vision, and execution for our pay later products globally. This leader will own PayPal’s global pay later roadmap, including our geo-expansion plans, consumer products, direct to consumer (DTC) products, and merchant products. This leader will be responsible forbuilding world-class consumer and merchant experiences that deepen engagement, drive growth, and strengthen our brand. To be successful, you will need to thrive on changing the status quo but also remain laser focused on working customer back, making every experience seamless, simple, and intuitive for both our consumers and merchants. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that requires a balance of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of consumer and merchant behavior. Job Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement product strategies that align to PayPal’s strategic objectives and ensure a cohesive and comprehensive vision forour global pay later products.Product Development Lifecycle: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept tolaunch including research, design, development, experimentationand iteration.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with our partner teams including large enterprise/checkout and consumer as well as functional teams like design, engineering, commercial, sales, marketing, legal, compliance, risk, data, identityand customer service teams as well as partners (banks, credit bureaus, networks) to ensureproduct success. You will need to facilitate communication and alignment across multiple departments and teams.Strategic Planning: Participate in the development and execution of enterprise-level strategicplanning processes, aligning release and program roadmaps with the organization’s overarchingvision and OKR’s. Ensure that all initiatives are strategically positioned to maximize theircontribution to the company’s long-term success.Team Leadership & Management:Lead and mentor a team of diverse product leaders and managers. Foster a culture of working customer back, putting people first, winning as a team, innovation, growthand excellence. Participate inpersonal performance management and development activities including cross-training.Bias To Action: Proven leadership: self-motivated and a self-starter with a “can do” attitude.Team player, energetic personality, quality minded, focused, committed and able to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, changing environment.High degree of professional confidence and credibility with effective presence, strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate technical concepts and plans at all levels.Sharp business judgment, detail oriented yet able to always see the “big picture”Strong partnering and influencing skills leveraging all communication mediums and throughout the organization, including senior leaders.Define and articulate through PR/FAQs, narratives, presentations, and documentation the vision and direction of our global pay later products.Strong problem-solving skills, able to prioritize among conflicting needs, advocate a course of actionand pursue it consistently.Ability to adapt, be flexible and responsive to dynamic situations.Challenge traditional products and experiences and build the next generation of globalpay later products and experiences.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, engineering or a related field.Minimum of 15+ years of product management experience.10+ years of experience managing teams of product managers/leaders.Prior experience infinancial services and specifically the buy now pay later space. We will also consider candidates with prior experience in credit, lendingand adjacent domains.Experience using AI to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of a team’s execution.Deep empathy and appreciation for our customer needs.Demonstrated track record of launching successful products for merchants and consumers across both mobile and web.Ability to work with a wide range of functions ranging from business expertsto developers.Strong understanding of business KPI’s and the ability to drive them.Experience in an agile development environment.Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills.Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities.Proficiency dealing with product complexity and initiative ambiguity.Experience multitasking and managing multiple releases concurrently.Strong understanding of the regulatory environment impacting global pay later products.Experience launching and operating financial products in global markets.Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:Subsidiary:PayPalTravel Percent:0-PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.Actual Compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to work location, and relevant skills and experience.The total compensation for this practice may include an annual performance bonus (or other incentive compensation, as applicable), equity, and medical, dental, vision, and other benefits.
