About The Steelhead Engineering CompanyWe offer MEP engineering and full-service design services for many building types and scales. We are a Tribally-owned, Indian Small Business Economic Enterprise (ISBEE) company, inspired by the water clans of the Pokagon Band to care for dynamic natural elements and ensuring that materials, energy, and environmental resources are in right relationship with people. Position Summary The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for electrical engineering design and ability to create final construction drawings throughout the entire construction process. Provides technical oversight and serves as a mentor to less experienced electrical engineers and drafters. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTypical functions of the Senior Electrical Engineer’s job include, but are not limited to:Produces engineering design elements consistent with project specifications.Produces design elements and troubleshoots flaws in accordance with the project hours, scope, and parameters.Produces engineering construction documents based on project specifics.Manages project timelines and related design activity communication between the design team and the client accurately and timely.Provides assistance in the preparation of proposals and engineering agreements.Provides project coordination with in-house and outside sources.Provides timely consultation on projects to manage schedules, deadlines, site surveys, punch lists, building codes and standards consistent with company quality standards.Accurately and consistently execute QA/QC process.Produces accurate and complete engineering project specifications within project parameters.Provide timely billing of projects to the accounting department.Actively participates in post design activities and represents the company in client meetings, through construction completion.Actively mentor junior engineers and designers.Follows established company policies and procedures.Engages actively with other company members to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies, and reduce costs. Qualifications and ExperienceRequired Education and Degree: Bachelor's in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or architectural engineering. Required Background and Experience:Minimum 8 years in electrical engineeringSound knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals Excellent communicator, organizer, and engagerThrive in a fast-paced environment with changing demands and prioritiesInitiate and enjoy independent problem solving and working in the gray areas Successfully incorporate feedback and manage multiple points of viewDemonstrate excellent language and written communication skills Preferred Background and Experience:Previous experience in an architecture, engineering, construction, or related professional service firm PE License Required Technical SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and TeamsExpert level proficiency in utilizing Revit to apply BIM Modeling knowledge to various architectural and engineering projectsWorking EnvironmentWhen not working from a home office, remotely, or onsite at a project location, most of this role is performed in a professional office environment. Additionally, this role is required to attend site visits. During site visits, there may be exposure to a variety of environmental conditions such as being outdoors, being in indoor non-temperature-controlled environments, and maneuvering into tight spaces to scan existing electrical power and lighting systems. Physical DemandsSitting/Standing: This role is generally sedentary performing sitting work utilizing technological office equipment including a laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, scanners, copiers, and fax machines. Walking: This role requires the ability to move about inside the office to access technological equipment required for the role. During site visits, this role requires the ability to traverse various project sites and buildings that will have uneven surfaces. Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role may require stooping to reload printer trays with print paper. During site visits, this role requires the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to set up scanning devices that will scan an existing structures heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and piping systems.Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment such as laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, and scanners, copiers, and fax machines.Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization to exchange information, review information, and make decisions about information. Seeing: This role requires the ability to view existing building structures inside and out to determine where scanning devices should be placed to get the required scans for the project.Carrying/Lifting: This role requires the ability to lift up to 30lbs to transport technological office equipment to and from various workspaces.
