Title: Pharmacy Manager, Specialty and Home Infusion
Reports To: SVP of Specialty Pharmacy and Home Infusion

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Manager will lead the operations of FlexCare's Houston-based pharmacy, specializing in serving home infusion and specialty pharmacy patients. Acting as the Pharmacist in Charge, the Pharmacy Manager will oversee daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and build a culture of clinical excellence and patient-centered care. This role requires licensure in all states FlexCare serves and expertise in home infusion management and specialty pharmacy practices.

Job Duties

Strategic Leadership and Team Development

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for pharmacy operations in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work culture.

Operational Management

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to specialty pharmacy and home infusion services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain high standards of care.
  • Manage inventory, including specialty medications and infusion supplies, to ensure availability and minimize waste.

Clinical Excellence

  • Maintain and expand expertise in specialty medications and home infusion therapies to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Support and guide the pharmacy team in handling complex patient cases.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and external agencies to deliver integrated care services.

Licensure and Compliance

  • Serve as Pharmacist in Charge for the Houston location and maintain licensure in all FlexCare-served states.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Performance Metrics

  • Monitor and analyze KPIs to evaluate the pharmacy's operational and financial performance.
  • Implement improvement plans based on data-driven insights.

Financial Responsibility

  • Oversee budget planning and management for the pharmacy.
  • Optimize resource allocation to achieve cost efficiency while maintaining high-quality service delivery.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role supervises pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Primary work environment: pharmacy setting with occasional travel for professional development.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds as needed.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with on-call requirements as business needs dictate.

Required Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited program or BS in Pharmacy with RPh and 10+ years experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years in pharmacy operations with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
    • Experience in home infusion services and specialty pharmacy.
  • Licensure: Licensed pharmacist in good standing in Texas with the ability to gain licensure in other FlexCare served states.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC).
  • Licensure: Current licensure in FlexCare served states

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Proficiency with pharmacy management software and electronic medical records (EMR).
