Summary:

Manage and direct the activities of programming, data analytics and system administration. People leadership for the software organization, to include performance management, employee engagement and recognition. Manage the workload of the employees and balance employee needs with business goals. Apply sound software engineering principles, metrics, and ensure compliance with all published processes and standards in our technical solutions. Ensure deliverables meet technical quality, cost, & schedule objectives. Provide proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers. Support estimation of labor and review of Basis of Estimate documents for proposals associated with SW domain. Support software engineering team deliverables from proposal through delivery & sustainment. Implement Agile development techniques and metrics to help manage team progress and quality throughout the life cycle. Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with senior management, peers, and employees. Responsible for the people, processes, and tools that support the software development teams operating within the agile process i.e., Jira, Confluence, etc. Own and lead improvements across employee engagement, hiring, development, training, attraction, and retention of top talent. Mentor, develop, and train team members. Interface with all levels of leadership to meet or exceed performance for all program deliverables.

  5. Represent Fabricut with outside entities.
  6. Prepare divisional procedures, policies, reports and correspondence.
  7. Collaborate with customers, staff, IT and other stakeholders to identify direction and plans for strategic customer goals, assess impacts, consider available and emerging technologies, compare costs and benefits and recommend solutions.
  8. Provide oversight of all aspects of project management to ensure continuous improvement of processes.
  9. Work with customers to identify their goals and strategic direction.
  10. Negotiate and collaborate with senior executives and internal staff to develop solutions and options.
  11. Develop and adhere to internal standards and strategies.
  12. Ensure adherence to approved methodologies.
  13. Provide oversight regarding metrics, funding, budgets and resources.
  14. Coordinate resources, time, contingency plans and risk management.
  15. Provide strategic direction and planning for current and future business and technical changes, contractual obligations and legislative regulations.
  16. Identify opportunities to improve critical business processes.
  17. Assess external and internal impacts to define a course or direction.
  18. Anticipate organizational impacts and understand procedures associated with introducing new information technologies.
  19. Plan and direct activities of a group of managers and staff.
  20. Direct and manage staff.
  21. Promote and ensure a culture of inclusion.
  22. Develop and provide input to skills assessments and oversee personal development plans for management staff.
  23. Coach, manage and develop managers and staff by establishing clear goals, expectations and strategies for employee performance.
  24. Insure consistency in talent management across departments within the division.
  25. Develop and administer performance reviews with measurable goals.
  26. Provide opportunities for staff to maintain current industry knowledge.
  27. Implement and manage strategic direction by managing activities of personnel in corporate endeavors.
  28. Develop, maintain and track division budget. Manage teams that span geographic areas or functional areas.
  29. Ensure compliance across the division and designated customer base with corporate standards, policies and regulations.
  30. Establish and use metrics to demonstrate operational excellence.
  31. Develop and implement short- and long-term plans.
  32. Prepare RFI’s/RFP’s and evaluate responses in support of appropriate technical vendor solutions.

  34. Provide Leadership to the Division.
  35. Lead and champion organizational change.
  36. Encourage participation in activities that support relationship development.

Supportive job functions: *

  1. Assist the CIO in carrying out his/her duties as needed.
  2. Prepare project costing for proposals.
  3. Maintain current knowledge of new technologies.

Requirements:

Demonstrated competence in:

  1. Work experience in distribution industry
  2. Analytical and problem-solving skills
  3. Project management experience with multiple major development projects, demonstrating leadership skills and a track record of managing technical/business staff, financial resources and outside vendors
  4. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  5. Presentation experience
  6. Experience in budget administration
  7. Experience in leading process improvement initiatives
  8. Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs
  9. Ability to establish and maintain high level of customer trust and confidence
  10. Knowledge of company’s business practices, products and resources
  11. Ability to motivate high performance, multi-discipline teams
  12. Technical knowledge and hands-on experience
  13. Demonstrated competency in project execution
  14. Demonstrated abilities in relationship management

Education and experience

  1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferred Master’s degree
  2. 7 years’ experience working with information technology
  3. 7 years’ experience in mentoring others in a leadership role
  4. 3 years’ experience in staff management
  5. 3 years’ experience in developing strategic plans
  6. 3 years’ experience in developing strategic and tactical solutions to diverse and complex business problems
  7. 3 years’ experience in developing, presenting and communicating technical concepts to varying audiences
  8. Experience leading Application Delivery, Development, and Support teams
  9. Experience in Vendor management, relationship management with System Integrators
  10. Certifications such as PMP and/or SCRUM/Agile are a plus.

Working conditions:

The working conditions for this position typically require an individual to work inside the majority of the day. This position includes mainly sedentary work and exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. This position requires an individual to work independently as well as maintain strong interpersonal working relationships. This position also requires continuous alertness and concentrated mental and visual attention throughout the workday. This position may require up to ten (10) days of travel per year for professional development, training, new business development, product presentations and professional association conferences.
