PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Be part of a team of knowledgeable, compassionate, and helpful allies for BIAC clients and provide leadership for Clinical Services. Part of the mission, for the clinical director, is to grow the department with the goal being to serve more survivors of brain injury. As Director of Clinical Services, you will oversee clinical program planning and operation for survivors statewide, standards compliance, develop applicable clinical and administrative policies and procedures, assist with the fiscal accountability of the program, and manage/supervise a clinical staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversight of day-to-day clinical operations including clinical service delivery systems.
    1. Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, including Colorado's regulations related to mental health facilities.
    2. Oversee the department's clinical documentation, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
    3. Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a safe and therapeutic environment for residents and staff.
    4. Participate in regular meetings with the management team to provide updates on clinical operations, progress, and challenges.
    5. Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive resident information.
  • Inspire and lead others towards high levels of performance, quality, accountability, and excellence.
  • Provide clinical and job supervision to the Clinical Team members (FT or PT employees, contractors, or interns) by providing individual and group supervision.
  • Offer a clinical and trauma-informed perspective for all BIAC projects and programs.
  • Guide Clinical staff in reaching professional development benchmarks and goals.
  • Supervise Employees for Licensure - Provide weekly individual and group supervision to employees working towards licensure.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Clinical Services Department, for example, cancellation policy.
  • Responsible for compliance with regulatory agencies and referral sources (e.g., OBH/BHA, CDPHE, HCPF, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws)
  • With Director of Human Resources, Department Directors, Department Vice Presidents, and President/CEO, recruit, hire, onboard, and retain quality employees.
  • Serve as a member of the BIAC Leadership team.
  • Cultivate community partnerships to facilitate two-way referrals.

Direct Services

  • Facilitate assessments and write evaluations and/or supervise others who facilitate assessment and write assessments based on their findings.
  • May be asked to provide direct therapy services to individuals with brain injury, for example, the Brief Therapy Support (BTS) program, and counseling support at Valor on the Fax

Administration and other tasks

  • Responsible for clinician waitlist and caseload management – assign new clients and manage waitlist and referrals.
  • Provide ongoing training to BIAC staff related to clinical interventions (i.e., Suicidality, Boundaries).
  • Connect with community partners to ensure ongoing availability of needed clinical referrals.
  • Budgeting - Manage and oversee the Clinical Services portion of the BIAC Operating Costs budget.
  • Mange employee timesheets and time off.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in clinical counseling, social work, psychology or closely related field
  • Three years’ experience delivering mental and/or behavioral health services to individuals.
  • Two years of management and clinical supervisory experience in mental/behavioral health.
  • Experience working with people with cognitive disabilities and/or behavioral health challenges.
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel within the region as needed.
  • Willingness to travel to meetings and events within the state, occasionally after hours and on weekends.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering clinical services to individuals with a brain injury
  • Possess working knowledge of key referral sources including Regional Accountable Entities, Administrative Service Organizations, private insurance companies, Colorado Department of Human Services, Behavioral Health Administration, and county departments of human services.
  • Knowledge of Brain Injury therapy modalities
  • Knowledge of individuals with a brain injury who have experienced homelessness.
  • One year or more of experience delivering clinical services in a group setting.
  • Knowledge of community, state, and federal resources for brain injury, disability, or human services specific to the region this position serves.
  • Experience teaching life skills such as: organization, financial management, healthy lifestyle, social skills, job skills, computer, and internet usage.
  • Knowledge and experience applying person-centered and culturally competent practices in interactions with clients, co-workers, professionals, and other community members.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Clinical licensure: LCSW, LMFT, LCPC, or PsyD
  • CBIS certification. BIAC provides training.
