Job Description Job Description

A Medical Device client in Orange County is looking to identify and hire a Material Handler / Inventory Control Specialist. The Material Handler / Inventory Control Specialist / Warehouse Specialist / Shipping & Receiving Clerk is primarily responsible for inventory control and logistics. This position is responsible for daily activity of handling, and expediting material into manufacturing, warehouse duties which include inventory control, shipping and receiving duties.

The Material Handler / Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Performing work order transactions such as picking, kitting, and delivery kit to production floor.
  • Performing daily receiving, shipping, inventory control, kitting and pulling of materials for work orders, expedites material into manufacturing.
  • Expediting materials and items through receiving, incoming quality inspections, to the manufacturing floor, storage areas or requestors of material.
  • Filling requisitions, work orders, or request for materials, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Performing physical inventories.
  • Shipping and preparing parcels for customer orders both domestic and internationally complying with export regulations and company shipping policies.
  • Moving heavy shipments with forklift.
  • Performing receiving activities for all incoming materials to support business operations accurately and timely.
  • Receiving, shipping, inventory control, proper storage and movement of material for the company's warehouses.
  • Ensuring compliance to procedures and updates work instructions as required.
  • Conveying materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product codes.
  • Assembling customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Arranging stock parts in specific sequence for assembly.
  • Utilizing QAD to enter records, ensuring transactions are performed correctly.
  • Providing support to cross functional teams to ensure accurate inventory and distribution management and to comply to procedures.

Requirements for the Material Handler / Inventory Control Specialist:

  • High School Diploma and a minimum of 3 years of directly applicable industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the safety and legal procedures for handling and receiving goods.
  • Experience with FedEx and UPS online procedures and software.
  • Direct work experiences in inventory control, warehouse operations, and domestic/international shipping.
  • Forklift certified strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in ERP applications (QAD preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
