Position – Senior Sales Engineer SE
This position is responsible for generating new revenue producing business via field sales visits and phone contact, influencing customers understanding of the benefits of using SpanSet, Inc. products and services. Responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling products and services. Develops relationships to be able to sell to new prospects; maintains current relationships to sell additional products and services.
Essential Position Functions and Responsibilities:
- Selling products and services within an assigned territory and utilizes a consultative approach through field visits and telephone sales to new and existing customers; recommends product and service enhancements that increase sales and capitalizes on margin potential.
- Understands customer base and company products and services. Seeks opportunities to solve customer needs and provide solutions that meet customer requirements in all areas from production to maintenance.
- Creating and executing an annual sales plan with defined goals and objectives.
- Prospecting and qualifying warm leads.
- Conducting discovery meetings with existing and new customers to uncover needs.
- Creating and delivering solutions and proposal presentations to customer’s decision-making team.
- Developing potential solutions, estimating, and preparing tailored proposals.
- Closing sales by selling value and overcoming objections.
- Coordinating front-end project development with our Operations and Product Management teams.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Selling, negotiating, and closing skills.
- Proven track record of business development results including prospecting new business and closing profitable work.
- Skilled in identifying, approaching, presenting, and building relationships with decision makers within a complex sales environment. Must be comfortable with all levels from field craft to executives.
- Mechanically inclined and a proven track record of success in rigging, lifting, lashings and tiedowns, and or Fall Protection PPE.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Computer Software and Management Reporting expertise in CRM tools.
- Trade, manufacturing, industrial and contractor experience is highly desired.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3-5 years of demonstrated sales/account management experience in the construction, rigging and lashing industries with a track record of success.
Level of Education and Experience:
- B.A., B.S. Industrial Technology, Business, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Requirements for Success:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required.
- Experience utilizing CRM tools.
- Must successfully complete drug screen, physical and E-Verify.
