Currently, we are looking for Lead Preschool Teachers. Hours may range between 7:00am-5:30pm Monday-Friday. Primary classrooms are 3-4-year-old children, with occasional childcare for ages 2-12.

 

Requirements:

  • One year of experience in a Child Care Center.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have completed 90 clock hours in child development/curriculum or equivalent.
  • Must have Associates Degree* in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Must hold a Maryland Child Care Credential Level 5* or higher.

*Candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered if they maintain continued education with the goal of achieving these criteria within 2 years.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit teamwork, flexibility, patience, and professional attitude.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Always maintain staff/child ratios.
  • Complete and maintain MSDE credentialing process annually, including 24 hours of training.

 

Classroom Responsibilities:

  • Provide planning and execution of appropriate early childhood education experiences in accordance with MSDE Accreditation, including play-based learning activities, snack/meal time, hygiene activities, and large and small group activities.
  • Prepare and submit weekly curriculum plans following the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies standards.
  • Provide ongoing assessments and hold bi-annual conferences with child’s primary caregivers.
  • Promote and supervise activities which promote the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child.
  • Electronically document daily communication with child’s primary caregivers.
  • Supervision of children: you will be charged with the safety and well-being of all children in your care. Redirect challenging behavior in a positive and professional manner set forth by the Behavior Management & Discipline Policy.
