At OhanaPsych we are a tele-psychiatry practice serving adults and children who live in Hawaii. The Aloha Spirit is part of every interaction we have with our clients and among each other. Working with us, you will be appreciated every day for your part to help people in Hawaii access psychiatric care via telehealth. We are the largest outpatient psychiatric practice group in Hawaii.

Work hybrid for a well-respected and growing tele-psychiatry practice, providers work a 10 hour, four-day work week, Providers are given one hour for administrative time daily and 30 min for lunch. We are open from 7am-6pm HST, Mon-Fri. Providers are supported by a support staff helping you take care of a panel of clients. We are looking for providers that are already in Hawaii. You must be in the process of moving to Hawaii to be considered. We are seeking an experienced provider in Hawaii. We provide telehealth psychiatric services to residents of Hawaii only and are in the process of opening physical location.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician adult/Pediatric Psychiatrist to join our team in psychiatric care. As a Physician Adult/Pediatric Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric care to children and adolescents with mental health disorders of some adults. You will work closely with a team to develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient. Your expertise in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders will be essential in helping our patients achieve optimal mental health and well-being.

  • Experience working with diverse patient populations
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems

Job Summary

General Accountabilities

  • Analyzes and interprets patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop proper diagnoses.
  • Diagnoses or treats acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, or injuries.
  • Recommends diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
  • Prescribes medications.
  • Educates patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses.
  • Orders, performs, or interprets the results of diagnostic tests.
  • Maintains complete and detailed records of patients' health care plans and prognoses.
  • Detects and responds to adverse drug reactions.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in psychiatry.
  • Refer patients for primary care conditions.
  • Schedules follow-up visits to check patients or evaluate health or illness care.
  • Performs routine or annual psychiatric/physical examinations.
  • Supervises or coordinates patient care or support staff activities.

Job Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in psychiatry
  • Board certification in child and adolescent psychiatry
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of employment Hawaii
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Unencumbered licensing in the state of Hawaii.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of children and adolescents and adults as needed with mental health disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient
  • Prescribe and monitor medication regimens as needed
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
