Coordinated Entry Assistant Director

Scope:
The Coordinated Entry (CE) Assistant Director is responsible for providing supervision, administration, and oversight of CAM staff and operations. In partnership with CAM managers and Director-level staff, the Assistant Director is responsible for monitoring the CAM for compliance, funding requirements, evaluation, and outcome data, as well as ensuring staff productivity/efficiency standards are met, completion of quarterly/annual reports as required by the funding sources, and overall monitoring of all aspects of the CAM to ensure operational excellence.
Essential Functions
- Supervise and provide daily oversight and support to CAM staff.
- Coordinate the work of assigned teams, provide direction to staff, and monitor individual and team performance.
- Develop and train community partners in the workflow of the CAM and their role in the housing system work related to coordinated entry.
- In collaboration with Director-level staff, play an active role in facilitating and engaging in meetings with stakeholders and funders to provide updates and resolve issues with CAM implementation.
- Participate in regular meetings with community partners, HAND, and CoC leadership to ensure CAM effectiveness and fidelity to the program model.
- Assist in completion of funding applications for CAM as needed and submit reports and data as required for reporting and monitoring requirements.
- Continuously work to improve workflow processes and make adjustments to CAM implementation to ensure an effective service delivery model.
- Assist agency leadership in coordinating partnerships within the Detroit CoC CES, including shelter providers, RRH providers, transitional shelters, and PSH providers.
- Design and monitor performance metrics to track CAM operations and outcomes.
- Maintain a firm understanding of CoC and ESG program requirements, as well as other local regulations that inform CAM functioning and compliance standards.
- Monitor program budgets and participate in routine meetings with accounting and grants management staff to analyze the financial status of CAM operations.
- Perform work in a professional manner that upholds Wayne Metro's policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent.
- Strong project management experience.
- Working knowledge of Detroit Continuum of Care and/or homeless services is a must, or transferable skills required.
- Positive attitude towards assigned work, clients, and staff, and a willingness to work with others.
- Ability to collect and evaluate data regarding service needs, present services, and service gaps; and through such an evaluation, develop means through which to address those service gaps.
- Experience with the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) preferred.
- Possess strong organizational, collaborative, and interpersonal skills to ensure that supportive services are delivered to eligible clients through engagement, education, and systems development.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organize, plan, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Flexible and committed to working as a team toward the pursuit of common goals.
- Ability to use sound judgment and initiative to analyze and resolve problems.
- Effective listening skills and professional communication skills, both orally and in written form.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals in a diverse community.
- Demonstrate understanding of high-quality customer service.
- Deep commitment to ending homelessness and advancing racial equity, operating from a Housing First, low-barrier, and person-centered approach.
Minimum Competencies:
- Working knowledge of basic internet applications and programs including Google technology and Microsoft Office Word and Excel. The ability to learn and utilize statewide data collection processes necessary for this position.
- Good interpersonal and professional skills including but not limited to professional appearance, tact, punctuality, and dependability.
- Ability to provide services for those persons facing economic, social, health, age, and educational barriers.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment (as deemed necessary).
Licensing and Other Requirements:
- Valid identification and reliable transportation.
- Although the Covid-19 vaccination is no longer mandated, it is encouraged. Wayne Metro will always prioritize the safety of our staff and clients.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel to various sites, which may include public meeting places as designated.
Work Hours: Available work schedules range in timeframes from Monday to Saturday, with specific hours to be determined by department needs. Potential to be part of an on-call rotation as needed.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Clerical: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates primarily in-person, in a professional environment. This is largely a sedentary role and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, frequently use hands and to talk or hear.
