Work Schedule

Flexible hours during the week between Monday - Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. OR 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Fridays: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. OR 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Schedule is flexible based upon the availability of the student; their class schedule and the department need.

Student may be scheduled up to 20 hours each week.

Job Summary

Scottsdale Community College is hiring a Federal Work Study (FWS) - Community Engagement Ambassador (Service Learning).

Must be a Scottsdale Community College student registered for 6 or more credit hours and received financial aid eligibility

This position will provide Service Learning Student Worker (Community Engagement Ambassador) in the Office of Student Experience and Leadership (SEL) will support campus-wide service-learning programs, diversity, and civic engagement programs. The Service Learning Student Worker (Community Engagement Ambassador) will:

  • Attend campus and/or community service, diversity and civic engagement events to promote student engagement opportunities and departmental information.
  • Assist SEL staff with special projects such as virtual and in-person special events and other projects as requested.
  • Assist SEL staff with social media campaign ideas, strategies, and implementation during virtual and in-person special events and other projects as requested.

To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus.

Additional Information

In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information prior to applying to a Federal Work-Study job.

  • FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
  • FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office.
  • FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
  • The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.

Minimum Qualifications
