Job Overview

Pegasus Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced and driven Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will oversee site trade coordination, material management, and provide essential support to field management teams to ensure the success of commercial and industrial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination: Manage trade coordination, material design, fabrication, delivery, and installation.
  • Communication & Reporting: Serve as the primary liaison between engineers, clients, and internal teams. Prepare and log daily/weekly reports, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Read and interpret construction documents.
    • Create and manage Gantt charts and schedules using Smartsheets.
    • Oversee budgeting, cost estimating, and forecasting.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervise subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
    • Provide strategic direction and resolve complex issues.
    • Conduct weekly toolbox and project meetings.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Ensure job sites meet OSHA safety regulations.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Logistics & Quality Assurance:
    • Coordinate procurement and delivery of materials.
    • Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure project standards are met.
  • Flexibility & Support: Step in to assist field teams and adjust project plans as needed.
Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years in commercial/industrial construction.
    • 5+ years as a Project Manager or Project Engineer.
    • Familiarity with plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems is a plus.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Smartsheets, and email communication.
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management abilities.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and plans.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift/move 20-70 pounds regularly.
    • Frequent climbing, kneeling, bending, and crouching.
    • Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Must pass a drug test and background check.
