Program Manager, Center for Public

Oversees operations of the professional development programs in the Center for Public and Nonprofit Management (CPNM). Serves as the primary point of contact for participants during the recruitment, onboarding, and class components. Assists with marketing, sales, and recruitment plans. Identifies and pursues grants to ensure sustainability of programming, while overseeing the center’s budget and financial operations. Travels to oversee program participation and implementation. Conducts program evaluations and recommends strategies to enhance marketability. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in urban studies, public administration, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in sales, marketing, or program management.
- Experience in budget management and/or grant writing.
- Ability to travel to attend conferences, meet with stakeholders, and oversee program implementation throughout Ohio.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under the CSU’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
- Experience in nonprofit or foundation operations including understanding funding mechanisms, compliance requirements, and best practices in program delivery.
- Working knowledge of an educational environment.
- Ability to travel and work flexible and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills, the ability to make effective presentations, have strong public speaking skills, develop, and drive change and effectively communicate change.
- Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player, in addition to being highly organized, self-directed, and forward-thinking.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze, and organize information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite.
