Technical Assistance Associate

General Summary:
The Technical Assistance Associate supports assigned projects at the Institute for Community Inclusion. They provide technical assistance and training related to postsecondary education for students with intellectual disability, collaborating with the Technical Assistance Manager, Alliances Manager, and Program Directors. The role includes serving as a technical assistance provider, documenting and addressing requests, and developing training resources in various formats. The incumbent also provides administrative support for the technical assistance team, including soliciting reports, tracking deliverables, scheduling meetings, and following up with partners. The position may be remote but requires regular travel.
Examples of Duties:- Plan and provide direct technical assistance and training in collaboration with program staff, faculty, higher education administrators, and community partners.
- Support documentation of technical assistance activities and assist with fiscal record keeping and invoicing.
- Develop and operate communities of practice to deliver collaborative technical assistance.
- Review metrics and trends to improve practice or identify needed resource development.
- Disseminate project materials and resources at conferences and events.
- Organize notes from technical assistance provision to create summary reports.
- Develop resources supporting program development and inclusive postsecondary education.
- Provide accessible and responsive technical assistance to diverse audiences.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and a minimum of two years of experience providing instruction, training, or technical assistance for people with intellectual disability. Experience with inclusive postsecondary education programs is required. Ability to travel regionally and nationally 4-5 times per year is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Field-based experience with inclusive postsecondary program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Strong knowledge of reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities in higher education.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to customer service.
- Understanding of policies impacting inclusive postsecondary education.
- Knowledge of instructional design and training modalities.
- Ability to support fiscal documentation and organization.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven follow-through on complex tasks to completion.
- Proficiency with office applications and strong communication skills.
