Job Description:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) needed for Behavioral Health.
Genie Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced LPNBehavioral Health to fill an opening located in Potsdam, NY for $1966/week (taxed+ Nontaxable)
*Requirements of the (LPN):*
● Must have AHA BLS certification.
● Must have valid NY , License
* 5 years of experience as an LPN required (recent experience must be within the last 3 months) - *REQUIRED*
* Psych/Behavioral Health experience and age groups must be listed on the resume - *REQUIRED*
* *Must have child psych experience listed in resume - REQUIRED*
* Must be willing to float to other units and take charge LPN shifts - *REQUIRED*
* Will consider first time travelers

*Job Summary*
The Behavioral Specialist plays a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals with behavioral and emotional challenges. This position involves working closely with patients to develop and implement effective behavioral interventions, ensuring adherence to treatment plans, and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment. The Behavioral Specialist collaborates with healthcare professionals, families, and other stakeholders to enhance patient outcomes and support overall well-being.
*Duties*
* Assess patient behavior and emotional needs through observation and interaction.
* Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
* Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patient behavior and coping strategies.
* Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
* Provide education to patients and families regarding behavioral health issues and management strategies.
* Ensure compliance with standards of care, including infection control protocols.
* Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
* Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and share insights on behavioral management.
* Assist in pain management techniques as needed during patient care activities.
* Provide support for infant care when applicable, ensuring a nurturing environment for young patients.
*Skills*
* Strong understanding of behavioral health standards and best practices.
* Knowledge of infection control measures relevant to patient care settings.
* Proficiency in basic life support techniques.
* Experience in pain management strategies for patients in acute care settings.
* Ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professional boundaries.
* Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is upheld.
* Skills in addressing aliment-related issues within the context of behavioral health.
* Experience working with infants or young children in a healthcare or therapeutic setting is a plus.
* Ability to work effectively in inpatient environments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
