Summary:
The Loan Review Analyst position is part of the Loan Review Department for Equity Bank. Loan Review is responsible for completing independent reviews of the bank’s loan portfolio and identifying risks within the loan portfolio. The Loan Review Analyst position will conduct these reviews of bank’s commercial real estate, commercial, agriculture, and consumer loan portfolios.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Evaluate the quality of commercial loans and assign risk rating.
Ensure all loans reviewed are in compliance with the Bank’s policies and procedures and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Review collateral documentation and verify the value of collateral pledged on the loans reviewed.
Perform an underwriting review of small commercial loans and consumer loans originated across all the bank’s markets and regions. Provide a list of identified exceptions or issues from these reviews.
Discuss identified findings with loan officers and Credit Administration.
Write a report from all reviews completed and communicate all identified findings.
Assist the Director of Loan Review and Loan Review Officer with sampling for the various reviews performed by the department.
Participate in due diligence examinations on potential mergers/acquisitions of the bank.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Required Skills & Education
1 to 2 years’ experience of working in loan review, credit analysis, or commercial lending in a financial institution required
Bank experience preferred
Experience reviewing financial statements and completing a credit analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in business related field. Prior experience working in credit analysis or loan review will be considered in lieu of the degree.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Technology skills, especially the ability to work in Windows based systems
Good interpersonal skills
Good written skills and the ability to write a smaller summary on a large

Physical Requirements
