The Learning Spectrum in Canal Winchester, OH is seeking a qualified" Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to help address the functional needs of our students. As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will play an integral role in the success of our students by providing occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
Implement occupational therapy activities to meet student needs and encourage progress.
Work collaboratively with other members of the student's multidisciplinary team, other related service professionals, school district personnel, outside service providers, and the student's family to design and implement appropriate services.
Complete quarterly progress reports and provide information to parents/guardians and school districts.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with child, parent/guardian, multidisciplinary team members and other personnel involved in child's educational/behavioral program.
Must have knowledge of child development and common behavioral disorders exhibited by children and adolescents.
Must possess the ability to react quickly and be sufficiently mobile to redirect students that could be injurious to themselves or others, i.e. stop a child from running out of a building, physically redirect a child with severe behaviors, etc.
