We are looking for an experienced, motivated ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR to join our team. This position plays a key role in leading our E&I team to successfully execute capital projects for industrial infrastructure, including multi-well production facilities, central gathering stations, oil terminals, and saltwater disposals.

 

The ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERING SUPERVISOR will oversee the electrical engineering team, managing project lifecycles from concept to commissioning. This role is instrumental in ensuring high-quality design, procurement, and integration of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. This position reports to Karla Orth, Vice President of Engineering.


The role’s primary responsibilities are as follows:

Key Responsibilities

Client engagement.

Maintain confidentiality of all JH and customer information.

 

Leadership & Supervision

Lead and mentor the Electrical and Instrumentation team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

 Allocate resources and oversee workload to meet project timelines and quality standards.

 Manage external consultants and vendors, ensuring compliance with company standards and project objectives.

Project Management

 

Oversee project scope, budgeting, and scheduling; manage project lifecycles to successful completion.

Engage with clients to understand project requirements and deliver timely, high-quality solutions.

Provide technical oversight and guidance through all phases of project development, from Front-End Loading (FEL) to commissioning.

 

Technical Oversight

Guide the creation and review of key project deliverables, including instrument lists, specifications, Cause and Effect diagrams, Control Narratives, Wiring Diagrams, and PLC drawings.

Develop and enforce quality control programs, ensuring system integration meets all functional and safety requirements.

Participate in the hazard review process and other safety evaluations.

 

Client Engagement & Communication

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining professional and effective communication to understand and meet their needs.

Ensure client satisfaction through consistent project updates and timely resolution of issues.

Uphold JH’s values in client interactions, promoting our culture of respect, confidentiality, and teamwork.

 

Field Support & Commissioning

Provide oversight during field-commissioning activities, including Pre-Startups Safety Reviews (PSSR).

Support Operations, Maintenance, and Construction teams with advanced troubleshooting and technical expertise.

Conduct field visits to plant sites, equipment fabricators, and vendor facilities (approximately 15% travel required).

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

·         Valid Louisiana PE license.

·         Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited 4-year university.

·         10+ years of experience in the upstream Oil & Gas or Midstream/Downstream Petrochemical industries, with at least three of those being in a supervisory role.

·         Proven experience in project leadership or team supervision.

·         Strong understanding of industry standards and applicable safety regulations.

·         Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to lead, influence, and manage cross-functional teams.

·         Must be legally allowed to operate a motor vehicle and able to pass an in-depth drug screening.
