PAYROLL & HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
MONTGOMERY, AL

Job Summary: This Payroll/H.R. Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role will also support HR functions, contributing to employee relations, benefits administration, and other HR initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of payroll systems, labor laws, and HR best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
  • Manage payroll systems and software, implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and laws.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll reports, addressing discrepancies and reconciling accounts.
  • Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate budget forecasting and financial reporting related to payroll.

Human Resources Support:

  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and orientation processes.
  • Support employee relations by addressing inquiries and concerns regarding payroll and benefits.
  • Manage employee records and ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Facilitate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll management, with at least 2 years in a Human Resources role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and labor laws.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Payroll (CPP or FPC) and/or Human Resources (PHR or SPHR) is a plus.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and data analytics.
